Cleaning

Dirt and grime destroy monuments. But, although giving stones a good wash seems like a good idea, it can actually cause permanent damage.

Skilled stone conservationists know that improper cleaning methods strip away a monument's surface leaving it porous and vulnerable to dirt and mold build-up and further decay. Rough surface cleaning also erases original engraving and inscriptions.

Memorial Restorations uses only the most gentle and well-established conservation techniques to clean monuments and historic markers like Cambridge's Galt Cenotaph.
