14 Stations of the Cross
This comprehensive restoration project of 22 statues for St. William's Cemetery in Emeryville, started out as a simple cleaning assignment. But, when we began working, we quickly realized that all of the statues had been coated with an over-the-counter plaster type product that had eliminated all the fine details of the originals.
We used small hand tools to chip away what became hundreds of pounds of plaster covering the 14 Stations of the Cross statuary. Once the original statues were revealed, we filled voids with with lime mortar and applied two coats of primer and three finish coats.
In addition to the 14 Stations of the Cross statuary, we restored eight full-sized statues and other landscape elements on the cemetery grounds.
